So sad to hear this about once-booming Detroit. The Democrats have just ruined a once-beautiful thriving city. The citizenry must be really unhappy. They need to elect a Republican to get the finances squared around and re-grow Motown. Democrats ruin everything they touch.
I lived in Detroit is 1968 during the riots…it was being taken over then..a few years later I happened to be on Woodward Ave and also Ave of The Americas and saw the weeds growing through the sidewalks…thanks unions. ya did a great job ..Atlas shrugged a long time ago in Detroit.
Remember the JL Hudson Thanksgiving parade? And Hudson’s toy department? And the beautiful elm tree lined city streets? I remember having to turn our lights off at 10 pm during the riots. The city never recovered.
After watching that video covering the depressing fact that Detroit can no longer afford to keep the street lights on at night; I am reminded of the last stages in the sinking of the SS Titanic in April of 1912.
As the ship sank lower and lower in the water, eventually the electrical generators were flooded out, and the lights winked out just before the ship slipped silently beneath the cold dark waters of the North Atlantic.
If Obama is truly the savior of the working class, why the hell have the lights across the country started to wink out, the economy is in a death spiral and Obama appears to be planing to inact Marshall Law to accomplish his hidden agenda.
Get some candles, a stash of munchies; and lock and load. I’ll see ya on the other side.
Too many years with democratic leadership, and unions cutting the throats of the auto industry with constant petty demands for more money, benefits, etc..We are talking about very ‘ordinary’ citizens. High school drop outs to barely sqeaking out of school..These people are not worth $25. an hour or more. But the unions think so….only because the more money the peasants make, the higher the dues..Unions, just a word todays NEO-MAFIA is hiding behind..And they are wondering why Americans are FOR the National Right to Work Committee, while they are beginning to take a back seat..Thanks to the Unions, and Clinton signing NAFTA, American businesses have been leaving the country in droves..What INCREDIBLE stupidity..But then what does one expect from a union goon and a democrat anymore..
More than 30 years of Liberals in government stealing from and lying to the citizens. And yet they keep voting them back into office. The governor tries to step in and help them out and they sue him! It’s a travesty!
I know from personal experience what unions do, the mine I worked at 40 years ago went bankrupt, it was bought out by a non union company at got the same production with half the employees while the employees got basically the same wages and benefits. union work rules made the difference
