This was excellent. Hard-hitting truth from 0:00 all the way to 23:57. I am so glad to see that there are people within the Roman Catholic Church waking up and speaking forcefully and honestly about the real nature of this threat against our liberty. Religious liberty is the first most important one our Constitution protects, and it is this liberty and this liberty ALONE, that is the foundation of all our great success as a nation. I fervently pray that the Eastern Orthodox Christian clergy will also be as forceful in defying this mandate and speaking out against it and all other violations of our religious liberty. The Orthodox Church should know this road better than even the Catholics, for the Orthodox have known the fiercest persecutions of any Christian communion in history, bar none. WE of all people, should know enough to not let it happen again. If it does, we will endure and come out victorious, for Christ’s Church will never be defeated. But we have history to tell us that it is not necessary to take the road that the Russians took. Let’s hearken to that testament. We’ve got lots of Russians in this country – go ask one what they think. They’ll usually call it like it is.
I admire the stance of Franciscan University.And I like the references to G.K. Chesteron. Great speech overall. However I can’t help but wonder who edited this speech, which contains the tooth-grinding inducement “this is Chesteron, speaking to you, and to I”……. I learned better grammer in grammer school! I realize how nit-picky this is, but this is from the head of a UNIVERSITY!
Ditto. I can’t believe the grammar that even educated people use these days. It’s in the newspaper, on TV news programs, etc. etc.etc. It hurts my ears!!!
